Hi Justin

I have been updating some of this branch of the tree this week so your message is well timed.

I would like to collaborate with this more. I think that I am a third cousin to your father.

Later I will send you a PM message.

Thanks Helen

My Connection to Joseph H Plumridge:
Joseph H Plumridge (1850-1941)> William Plumridge (1882-1955)> Ruby D Plumridge (1921-2003)
>**My Grandfather** (Living) >**My Father**(Living) >Me

Hi Helen, I never had an email notification so never saw this message but i have recently been doing some more work on this side of the tree and have some further information about Joseph H Plumridge.

I lived with my great-grandmother (Ruby D Plumridge 1921-2003), up untill the age of 9 and have some information from her and her son (my grandfather):

Joseph H Plumridge
1851: Born
1876: Married Emma Pusey
1919: Emma Pusey (Wife) Dies
1920: Re-Marries Miriam Alice Elsey
1931:Joseph is Living in the village of Whitecross near Ludgvan, Kernow.
1932:Joseph puts a bulletin in the local paper stating that he will not be responsible for his wifes debts (I assume that they divorced around this time?)
1939:By this time he is listed as a widow.
1941:He is admitted to Bodmin Mental Hospital
1941:He later died due to 'Senile Decay' at the hospital
1941:This year I managed to track down the exact burial spot too(No Headstone)
His probate was left to his son William Plumridge (1882-1955).

Further Info:
My great-grandmother remembered travelling by train down to her grandfathers (Joseph H) cottage. She would get off the train at Marazion and would meet him there to walk up the hill to the cottage. Her memories are of there being a small pond in the garden and you could see St Michaels Mount from the property. She spoke fondly of him and her holidays there were some of her better memories of growing up.

William Plumridge (1882-1955)
William Plumridge was not fondly remembered by any of his children.
1882:Born
1908:William Marries Alice Daisy Wigmore (1890-1971) in Harlesden
1928:His last child is born Sylvia Peggy Plumridge (1928-1999)
1935:Around this time William came home and in a regular drunken rage, threw a hot iron at his wife (Alice). When his son William (Willie) returned home from work he found out what had happened so he waited for his father to go out drinking again and took the oppurtunity to move the whole family to a new house severing all ties with him. Some time after this, Ruby recalled seeing a decrepid looking man (described him as looking like a tramp) that looked similar to her father standing near the house sobbing, it was never confirmed if it was him.
No attempt was ever made to re-unite the family by either side.
1939:William is later living in a flat in the same area on his own and working as a GWR porter.
1955:William died at the age of 74 alone in hospital.

Further Info:
The family were unaware of what had happened to him after they left and never knew when or where he died, (burial site is still unknown). It was assumed that he had gone somewhere in the South-west along the GWR route but records I have found have proven this to be false. Ruby recalled him as being nasty, hot-tempered and often drunk but it sounds like they didnt like to talk about him often after this. Im not sure how this would have played out with Ruby visiting Joseph Plumridge for holidays as William is listed on his Will so I assume they may have had some contact without Ruby knowing...

I hope this helps with any research and gives a bit of an insight as to who these people were.
If i can help with anything further then please dont hesitate to contact me!
