Australian Birth & Baptisms 1792-1981.Two different entries for same persons?

Hi,
Perhaps someone can explain the following.
I  have four children on my Tree :Amy Eveline Evans(1879-1879), William Henry Oscar Evans(1882-?, Mabel Roberta Pratt(Evans)(1877-1955) and Maud Eveline Riley(Evans)(1880-?.All born  in Tasmania, Australia and all children of William    Evans
and Frances(Fanny)Phoebe Rebecca Davis.(1852-1932)

On checking out the Birth and Baptism records, I find that there are two records for each child, one stating father is William John Evans, and the other William Thomas Evans. Both can`t be correct, and it is making it impossible to research Wiliam. On checking Tasmanian records both  men existed with birth years within two years of one another-not that I know either are the William I`m  trying to research, as no marriages are shown.
Where do I go from here? Any advice appreciated

Hi Aniph,
Thankyou very much-I guess this proves that the person was William John Evans. Any idea why the two  entries appear in Australian Birth & Baptisms 1792-1981.

Where are you seeing two entries for each child?

Amy Eveline has one entry, father is William John

You have Mabel's name wrong, she is Mabel Rebecca Sarah

Father originally William Thomas with a margin correction to William John

Frances just made a mistake when she registered the births of William and Mabel.

Thanks Debra,
The name mistake  was just my poor typing when posting. I have my Tree with My Heritage, and when Record Matches came up for each of the children there were two separate entries., both from Aust Births & Baptisms.One showed William John and the other William Thomas. The Marriage cert advised by Aniph  shows William John Evans ,so I take that as correct. I have since rejected all matches showing William Thomas.
