Strange Geoff, as there are 50 Kordham's in England on the first page of an Ancestry search, total result of 390,969.  Of course some may be duplicated! But they're certainly around!

Couldn't find a Sarah Kordham in a named search on Ancestry though.

I'll check them for Fordham.

ADDED - Heaps of Sarah Fordhams, but we need names and date etc and details of the marriage to get you back further.

Thanks all, Fordham is a possibility I hadn't considered, though a quick search hasn't found any marriages between a Fordham and a Sarah with a surname that ties in.

The marriage was in 1759 so no censuses I'm afraid. The marriage was in Aston, Hertfordshire between John Ormsby and Ann Canfield. I can't find a baptism for John and there are two possibles for Ann, so I was rather hoping Sarah might turn out to be a married sister.

Thanks for the other possible variations, I'll have to have a look for more marriages later!

With an exact surname search I got a lot fewer than that, but I checked a few from the first page of results. There was one 1861 census household where I agree it might have been Kordham, although since the children there were aged 1 and 3m, and haven't shown up at FreeBMD, I'm inclined to think it's really something else. The next few I checked were from printed electoral registers, and all were Fordham. Doesn't say much for their OCR - the printing is very clear.
