I, personally, think that the majority of RootsChat members deserve a nomination.

Most of us are willing to help those who are unable, for various reasons, to carry out their own research.   I have helped people from New Zealand, Australia etc in their quest for English information, and have, in turn been helped on my overseas queries.

It's a give and take ideal  :) :)

I agree BumbleB. There are so many people who have helped me that I would feel very uncomfortable nominating any one person for fear of offending the others. All those who give up their time deserve praise and thanks.

Thanks BumbleB and Groom, I have been plucking up courage to say the same thing.
Sorry, but I don't think it's right to single out individual people. There are too many to name.

I nominate the moderators.

They are the best moderators on the internet, in my opinion.

I agree with BB and Groom, it's a give and take situation. Most of us on here have benefited from help,  I know I have on more than one occasion, so it feels good to be able to help someone in return even in some small way.  :D

Where would you begin with your list of recipients for bouquets and accolades?  You just couldn't ever do it.  Over the years I have had huge amounts of help from people, and I've done what I can here and there to help where possible.  But that's what RC is about, as others have said: give and take.

I agree everybody on here is incredibly helpful but sometimes may not realise how much their contributions help ...not singling out in a competitive way or saying who is better .just want a place where we can show how particular help has touched us ..

So this week why not give yourself a sticker ...and wear it with pride ..if anyone asks it's your roots helper badge ! Who knows could inspire interest in family research .

I don't see a problem with thanking an individual.  Whilst I agree that RCers in general are wonderful for some one or row particular chatters will have been helpful to them, why shouldn't they thank them?
