Who did he marry?  when was he born? where was he born?  do you have him in any census?  if so,,,which?

he married nellie shepherd in 1930 holbeck leeds, i ave his mother as ellen argyle

The middle name Berry could refer to his father. Illegitimate children couldn't be given the father's name without his permission but it wasn't unlawful to give it as a middle name which often happened.
