Probable marriage for his parents, from FreeBMD

Dec qr 1863, registered Pancras
Felix CARTER and on the same page: Maria HUNT

The marriage, by banns, took place at St Pancras church, 24 November 1863
Felix CARTER, bachelor, gentleman, full age, resident Chalcot Crescent, father: Henry CARTER, dead
Maria HUNT, spinster, junior, resident: St Clement Danes, father: Frederick Knight HUNT, dead
Witnesses: Charles TOYE?, Ann CARTER

There is a later marriage for Felix CARTER snr as he applies, as a widower, for a licence to marry Rose Maria NOYES 30 March 1885.
(Some of the online public trees that I looked at seem to confuse the two wives.)

The marriage, by licence, took place at St Mary's, Islington, 1 April, 1885, one day after grant of the licence.
Felix CARTER, 42, widower, solicitor, residence: 3 Tollington Place, father: Henry CARTER, surgeon
Rose Maria NOYES, 36, spinster, residence: 3 Tollington Place, father: James NOYES, wine merchant.
Witnesses: Albert CARTER, Milly CARTER,

The England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations) shows that Felix snr died 30 June 1893 and his widow, Rose Maria CARTER is granted probate of his estate worth over 4000 pounds.  His occupation is listed as solicitor and his addresses are 3 Tollington Place, Tollington Park and 12A Watling St London; he died at Ivy Cottage, Reydon, Suffolk.

There is other information available which I'm happy to post if you want it, but you may already have it.

The following information is about Felix CARTER.  (I've only transcribed new information, for example, birthplaces remain consistent)

FreeBMD has this birth
Felix CARTER, July qr 1843, registered Strand (London) - date fits and census entries give his birthplace as London so I think this is him.

Priscilla A Carter   46, b Twickenham
Albert Carter   18, b Cheltenham
Rosa Carter   14, b Cheltenham
Hy Caster   12, b Cheltenham
Felix Caster   7, b St Clement Danes

1871 at Newlands, Edgeware

1881 at Crosby House, Chigwell
Felix Carter   37, solicitor in practice
Maria Carter   37
Felix C.P. Carter   16
Albert Carter   15
Emily N. Carter   10
Herbert D. Carter   9
Stanley K. Carter   7, b Stanmore
Henery D. Carter   3, b Tollington Park, London
There are also a governess, coachman and general servant.

1891 at 3 Tollington Place Islington
Felix Carter   47

Hi Cheran,

The 1st Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train was a unique unit formed made up of Naval Reservists in 1915 and Felix was a member of that unit.  The unit did great work at Gallipoli and that is where Felix sustained his inguinal hernia injury and he had to come back to Australia for surgery. The Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train was disbanded in May 1917.
