Longtower burial records

Hi does anyone know if the Longtower church in Derry holds any burial records.

I don't think they have a burial ground :-\
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

If you go on find a grave you can see some internments .

Yes, there is a graveyard-

Best place to ask about records would probably be the church.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thats probably what i will have to do, it's a shame there isn't more records online.

I've been to the cemetery at Longtower too and the newspaper story explains why there are very few graves!

My family were  not only lifelong members of Longtower but, they also donated large sums of money to this church and have a memorial plaque on the wall inside.
(I've been told that part of a large donation made in 1929 paid for the existing baptismal font)

I have since located most of their graves in Derry and not one of them is buried at Longtower !
Deaths range from 1867 to 1945
Early deaths were buried at Killea burial ground whilst those from 1884 onwards were buried at City Cemetery, Lonemoor

Thankyou for your reply, i would say you right after the land slide in 1934 i would say a lot of graves were lost.
Just one more thing in the way with Irish research.

I managed to find my family graves because the deaths were announced in The Derry Journal.
I have access via FindMyPast if you want me to  have a look?

I've been to The City Cemetery and photographed the graves there but, I have no idea where Killea Cemetery is, or even if it still exists.
Maybe on my next visit! LOL
