Margarets signature on the marriage looks like Coope - marriage is 1828 for anyone looking  ;)

one of their children appears to be Thomas coop sudlow born 1834 so it is likely margarets name is coop/e rather than cooke

There is a baptism that would fit James but it is in Cheshire
James Sudlow
05 Jun 1808
Thornton-le-Moors, Cheshire
Father   John Sudlow
Mother   Frances

There are other christenings for children of this couple on familysearch including some in Manchester with parents with the same names  ;)

Thank you for your PM regarding Margarets surname.  What information do you have that the surname is definitely Cooke.

BT's which are a transcript and therefore possibly incorrect say Cooke.  The marriage document is clearly Coope with Margaret's signature also Coope - she also signed as 'Margret '

The baptism of their son Thomas in 1834 has his middle name as 'Coop' and his burial in 1835 it is 'Coupe'    :-\

I see his marriage certificate says he was a Hair dresser.  There is an apprenticeship for a James Sudlow dated 1820 for a James Sudlow age 14 (a poor child) 'belonging' to the town of Manchester as a Hair dresser.  At least we know he was resident in Manchester in 1820  ;D
