I have been using this to gather info on the family

Typed in Skene and have been going through all newspapers and books that they have, takes a while but getting there. As I have added more to my tree since I first used this I have had go back and look through it all again incase articles etc are now relevant.

Part of the obit for Andrew Skene...............mostly makes some sense.
ANDREW SKENE Peacefully in his 97th on September at the Misericordia Andy was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in He was born on August 1888 in Scotland and immigrated to in where he Skene served overseas with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and was wounded in the First World War after which he operated a barber shop in West Kildonan and later was employed for many years as an elevator operator in the Confederation Life Building and the Lindsay Andy remained loving and alert through his later years of wheelchair He was a lifetime member of the Imperial Veterans Branch of the Royal Canadian Skene is survived by his three Mary McLeod of "P"and her husband "J C" of and "M and her husband "B McC" of Winnipeg 11 grandchildren .......................
