Where were they married George A Morton and Florina Donnelly March 1910

I have my Grandfather, George Allinson Morton (b1885) marrying Florina Donnelly (b1887) in Toxteth Park 16th March 1910 - from his own handwritten genealogy records. I can find that in the BMD records but she was definitely RC. I have searched the RC marriage records on the Liverpool site but cannot find where they were married. Also they are in Kuching (Sarawak) where their son George Allinson is born 6th April 1911 - so was wondering if they married in a registry office before setting sail for the Far East. Any thoughts? Possibly because they were different religions?

George was RC as well. In fact my Dad, Thomas (b1914), brother to George Allinson (b1911) was sent to RC schools with brother in Canada and Oxford. Can only think family's didn't agree with marriage?

It may not have been in a Registry office as the record says Registry Office or Registrar attended. If you Google that, an answer on one forum says:

The wedding might have been at the register office, or it might have been at a Catholic or non-conformist place of worship anywhere in the registration district. In theory from 1898 onwards an 'Authorised Person' could record marriages in such places of worship . . . but in many places the old system of having the Registrar present continued.

Probably the only way to be certain would be to get the certificate.
