Merrychurch
« on: Sunday 01 May 16 12:00 BST (UK) »
Has anyone ever come across the name  'Merrychurch'  - particularly in Denbighshire or in conjunction with the name Roberts?
Am researching a George Taverner Merrychurch Roberts born Huntingdonshire 1806 to a Thomas and Elizabeth.  It is possible that Thomas came from Llansilin.
There are Merrychurches in Bristol and George's brother's daughter was called Ellen Merrychurch Roberts,  so it looks like a family name.
Would be grateful for any ideas!

Hello and welcome to Rootschat.
Was George baptised and married in his full name of George Tavener Merrychurch Roberts? The only record I can find with the full name is on baptism record of daughter Mary in 1845 in Camberwell.
