John Davidge may have moved to Ringley because of his occupation as a papermaker.As a Lancashire girl I do know that there were paper mills in the area of Bolton, may still be.Ringley is on the outskirts & he would not have far to travel.I do know that one of them closed down some years ago as one of our family worked there.
