If you go to www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and invest in a few credits, you can in theory find and view all deaths in 1955. However even restricting the search to females aged over 30 and dying in Lanarkshire there are 19 results.

Maybe someone could suggest which registration district Lower Street was in in 1955.

Mary Jane Ramsey, daughter of William, married 3 June 1918 Belfast to Walter William Dawson, son of Thomas. You can view the certificate on GRONI's site after registering and purchasing credits-

This is probably a long shot but anyone know how old Mary Jane Ramsey Dawson was when she died?

I have records for a MaryJane Ramsey, daughter of William which might be a possibility if there's a Derry connection.

I'm also wondering if this is the same Walter William Dawson- born c1875 Ireland:

Or this one born in England?

Irish Finder- do you know where in Derry the Moore family would have lived?

This is probably a long shot but anyone know how old Mary Jane Ramsey Dawson was when she died?

The index at SP suggests that she was 68, which, if accurate, gives a birth year of 1886/1887.

The death certificate will tell you the full names of both her parents, assuming that the informant knew this.

Walter William Dawson died in Scotland in 1943, aged 68. This tallies with a birth in 1874/1875. His death certificate will confirm the name of his wife and tell you the full names of both his parents, assuming the informant knew this.

Thanks for those additional details. Not the Mary Jane Ramsey I was hoping for but I do have another possibility-
Mary Jane Ramsey born 13 Aug.1886 Londonderry (father William, mother Jane Black)

Aghadowey,
I know that you have helped me out in the past with my Derry families.

I have a few spare credits for SP and obtained the 1955 Dc for Mary Jane Dawson, Ms Ramsey.

She was indeed the widow of Walter Dawson and the daughter of William Ramsey and Jane Black
Informant was her son, Alfred Dawson
She died in the Royal Samaritan Hospital

EDIT:
Walter William Dawson died 16 Mar 1943 at 133 Balornock Road (which most of us know was Barnhill Hospital/poorhouse)
He was the son of Thomas Dawson and Sophie Esther Manger ?
