Well my post has brought out the Tahitia fan club in force, don't know if it will get deleted.

Unfortunately I think this debacle and I do think it was a car crash, will do Strathclyde University no good among the Family History community.

I noticed that as well. If everyone praises the course, they won't learn from their mistakes and so the next course will go out exactly the same. I noticed a long post pointing out where it could be improved and as Jaywit said the fan club rushed in as if it was a personal attack on them.

Perhaps people are just too polite, or maybe we expected too much.

If, as I suspect, about 1000 people complete that means an attrition rate of about 96% if the 26,000 was an accurate number of enrollments.  :o

It would be nice to know how many actually stuck with it wouldn't it, but they probably can't tell as there is no time limit. If there were that many on the course, it was a very small percentage who commented after each section, as the same names kept appearing.

I stuck with it but feel that time spent here and taking a few courses/workshops with my local family history society have taught me more useful things.....different websites to check, search techniques, etc.

Fingers crossed that the next one I've signed up for (Food & Feasting) is going to be an improvement.  ;)
