Shone Family of Mollington 1841/1851 Census

Hi Peter

I Had a Look at the 1871 Census..and i found my Catharine with Husband Robert Harold Living in Mckee Street Liverpool ...Catherine's Place Of Birth was Noted as Shotwick Cheshire is this far from Mollington?


There Where No Shone Witness at the Marriage Of Catherine and Robert Only Roberts Brother John Harold and Thomas Maddock

       Just had a good look round the Shotwick parishes and not found anything, it does look very much like the family had moved away from Mollington fairly early before the 1841. Maybe even to Liverpool, have you had a look for the death of her parents at all ?

Wondering if anyone can Help Find My SHONE Family in 1841 Census Of Mollington

I am Looking For a Thomas Shone Shoemaker he should have a Daughter Catherine Born c 1826

Hey Iria,

There might be a reason that Thomas Shone does not show up on the 1841 Census. I'm not sure if this is the same Thomas Shone, but he was a shoe maker and he had a Daughter Catherine born on 1 May 1833. She did died young though. This Thomas Shone was a 1820 settler to South Africa, so that may explain previous Census entries, but none for after 1820.

His journals can be found in the Corey Library, Grahamstown, South Africa.

Hi Thomas

Many thanx for your time..There Could be a Possibilty with this Thomas Shone..As I have another Family The Bold Family who Moved to South Africa and then Returned to Liverpool...Catherine Shone b Approx 1826 married a Robert Harold in 1845 Liverpool..The Bold Family also Married into the Harold Family..So maybe Catherine Shone returned to England with the Bold Family
