Blue coat schools
« on: Saturday 09 April 16 20:41 BST (UK) »
Hello from a newbie! From the 1911 census I have found my grandmother Ethel Jessie Mary Bunn at the Blue coat school Birmingham. Can you tell me if I can find registers for these schools for other years, I would like to know how long she was there, is there a website or a book I can research from? Thank you.

My sister and I visited the Central library in Birmingham last year and looked at some earlier Blue Coat School records. I don't know what other records they hold but it might be worth you contacting them, they may be able to point you in the right direction.
Cattell. Ainsworth. Smith. Phillips. All ended up in Birmingham.

I wrote to another Blue Coat school some time ago and they were very helpful.

It may be worth contacting the school directly as they probably have archive records. From what I can make out the Birmingham school is still there.

Good luck  :)
Best wishes HL
