HOWELLS Marriage in Cape town to TALANDA

I am trying to find a marriage for Freda Burchmore nee Howells. She married Percy Burchmore in 1939 then in 1953 she appears to leave the uk on board the Umengi bound for Port Natal Durban. After that she disappears until she marries Sandor Csiba in 1964 in the Durham area of England. The records show her surname as now Tal ;)landa. Her death in 1980 is also registered under the surname Talanda. Rumour has it that she went to South Africa and had a child there. Then she must have returned. If any one can help confirm if she married and even better if she did have a child.  ThanksHelene

Port Natal is now called Durban.  Unfortunately I cannot find a marriage or a divorce. The only Talanda that could possibly fit the bill is this one. Unfortunately the estate is not on line, but can be ordered through eggsa.org.

Perhaps she divorced and reverted back to her previous married name....

Hello, Paul Burchmore was born on Feb. 25, 1954 in Durban South Africa. Freda Howells was his mother and Mr. Csiba was his step father. Paul now lives in the US. He told me to let you know he has his birth certificate. I am helping him research his family. Are you a relative?

I found this story on the net. My great grandfather: Josef Talanda & his brother came out to Africa, escaping a very dominant father. He wanted his sons to follow in his footsteps and have a good civil career in the AustroHungarian Empire. This meant 13years of a military career first. They convinced their father to grant them permission to study the English language.  My great grandfather; Josef Wilhelm Talanda died in Republic Of South Africa. his middle brother Johann (died in German South West Africa/Namibia) and their youngest brother Alois Talanda is buried in the Czech Republic-Uh. Haradiste). They had 3 sisters. 2 where married in once Yoguslavia, 1 in north of Czech Rep. All traces of the sisters disappeared with the end of the II World War.
