The will of Henrietta Whiston
« on: Wednesday 06 April 16 11:49 BST (UK) »
Hi there, can any members of this board help decipher the will of Henrietta Whiston.
I can make out bits of the will and some of the beneficiaries, the problem is the family connections to Henrietta don't correspond with my information although the names are correct.  Posting the will on the forum is not possible as it is too large.

I would be most grateful if any members are willing to have the file emailed to them for deciphering.

Thanks in advance

lennonjohn

Hi Lennon,

Can you not crop the image into smaller selections, this will also help make the writing larger ;)

Regards

Sarah

Hi sarah,

the image file is 6.05mb in total so still too large to post even in segments.

You would have to split it into 12 sections lennon

hi Jim1,

thanks for the reply  :)

Yes Henrietta died in 1841, she was born in 1761 to parents Benjamin Rew and Sarah Skears.
Her husband was William Whiston 1745 - 1819

One of her siblings was Sir Skears Rew, former Mayor of Coventry.

I'm glad you said that as I've been looking at them all. So what's the problem?

What I've gleaned from it is that Henrietta Rew married Will. Whiston 1781 Cov. but had no children.
She had at least one sibling, Skears Rew who married Jenny Bradnick 1791 Cov. who appears to have had an illegitimate daughter Henrietta Turner who is mentioned as a natural child rather than a daughter.
Niece Sarah Wilson Westley nee Rew m. 1808 Cov. had 7 surviving children (possibly I other John b. 1810) Mark Malin, William Whiston, Skears Rew, Henrietta, Thomas, Mary Ann & Sarah.
2 other niece's are Ann Phipps & Sarah Walker who was at the time living with her son John ?
The other beneficiary was Henrietta's husband's son by a previous relationship William Whiston Batt/Bart who's living with his father-in-law a Doctor Jordan.
Is this what you have?
According to IGI Henrietta's other siblings were Benjamin, Sarah & Sally.
