James Alfred Rickard wife Mary Ann Rickard lived with her son Joseph earnest Rickard (my grandfather) after her husband died. This was first at Bent lanes in davyhulme and than in later life at woodlands AVE in flxton.
My dad who is Joseph earnest Rickard son remembers that his grandad James Alfred Rickard also  owned a mill and travelled to India and Africa for his materials.

Hello  James and Mary Ann Rickard of Gerard St Ashton-in-Makerfield were my grandparents. Their ashes are in the Garden of Remembrance of Blackpool Crematorium. I happened to google James and your post in RootsChat came up so I joined up to give you the info.

Hi Ashton lass.
James and Mary were my dad (Ian Rickard) grandparents also . My dad's sister was called Yvonne. And their parents were Earnest ( Joseph was his first name but he used his middle name)  and Edith Rickard.

Hello Holistic,  Yes Ian and Yvonne Rickard were my cousins, and I remember visiting them as a child when they lived in Bent Lanes, and later when my grandmother lived with them in a bungalow in part of Manchester. I am new to genealogy chat online so am not sure if there is a way of sending a private message.

Hi Ashton lass .I'm also trying to find out how to private message you.
It's fantastic to hear that you are my dad's and Yvonne's cousins.
Sadly both of them have passed away in 2017 and just 9 days apart from each other. I have pictures of  your grandparents and a few of their children and also my dad and Yvonne that I can send to you .

It looks like a little clipboard and if it is glowing green, there may be the chance the person you are trying to contact is online.
