Winchester Burial
« on: Friday 01 April 16 15:59 BST (UK) »
Could some kind soul provide me with a verbatim transcription of the burial entry for Jane Austen who died 18 July 1817 and was buried 24 July at Winchester Cathedral. I need to know exactly what the burial register states including the name of the clergman who performed the burial rites or was the officiating minister. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat :)

You may have already tried this but I would suggest that you contact HGS,

http://www.hgs-familyhistory.com/new-research-resources/

or Hampshire Record Office,

http://www3.hants.gov.uk/archives/hals-collections/church-burials.htm

The Record Office have helped me on the phone when I knew the exact name/place and date of an event :)

Regards,
Daisy
