Thank you all for your help. The transcript said Richard but i wasn't sure. I thought the d of Richard was a dropped letter from the line above. there are two biographies of the baby on line. One said he was the son of Richard and one said he was the younger brother. I'm not sure if there was a confusion as to where Richard fitted in or there is a baptism of Richard son of Richard yet to be found. Interesting that his father was a draper, he went on to become Archbishop of York and brother Richard (if indeed he was a brother) was Secretary to the Admiralty.
Family legend has it that we are descended from him, but since he died with no legitimate children it is doubtful. He claimed to be connected to the Blackburns of Marrick Abbey, Yorks. I have found a Richard of right age to be Lancelot's father bapt in Yorkshire not at Marrick but not too far away and his father is also called Lancelot. So there may be some truth in that the London Lancelot's roots were in Yorkshire, which does put them closer to my Blackburn ancestors.
