Possible MP Sparks/Chappell
« on: Saturday 26 March 16 12:43 GMT (UK) »
I am looking to find any information on Maria or sometimes spelt Marea Sparks b.1922 in Chorlton, Manchester d.1995 in Stockport, married Charles Gordon Chappell in 1963.  My mother told me that she had been an MP in her prime but cannot find any information to confirm that. I have looked for former MPs in Stockport where she died but cannot find any clues.  Any help appreciated.

Just a thought??

Maybe she was a Town/County Councilor.

Have you looked for an obituary for her, if she was an MP or councillor it is possible that there would be one

There is no mention of her as an MP in the Times Digital Archive or the British Newspaper Archive.

Yes, Pegasuss and Rosie99, you are probably right she was more likely to be a County Councillor. I have looked for an obituary but no luck so far.
