That is a nice Easter treat, does Ancestry have up to date electoral registers as do FindMyPast?

I don't think so, but they have older electoral registers from London (up to 1965 I think), Surrey, West Midlands, West Yorkshire.... and probably some other areas I've forgotten!

Thank you for that info, I was looking for someone outside of London, 2003

Yet again, it leaves me wondering why bother with a subscription to the two major sites. It would be interesting to see just how many free or reduced days they give away during a year.

I've never had a subscription to either of those sites, too expensive from this side, but when the freebies are on offer I make full use of them and there are at least a few each year.  This time it gives me a chance to have a look at the South African records they have ;D ;D

Between the free weekends and library access, I've got a LOT out of Ancestry in the past few months without having to subscribe.

Is there a code as I'm being asked to subscribe with only the usual choices....nothing about the freebie?

Can't see one. I've just looked on their FB page and someone said it's not working. If they are asking you to register, I wonder if that means it won't accept anyone who has used it before?

This is from FB

Wendy Reid:  How is it 'free access' when the site demands registration and credit/debit card details to go any further than the 'preview'? why not free access to the birth/death record with just an email address?
