Hi again,

sorry, meant to add the 1921 Armagh date fits in well if his was a regular short service soldier - 7 years with the colours and 5 in reserve. I see he was a native of Armagh and, at 16, a Cambric weaver- ( I had to Google it as I'd never heard it before - a linen cloth from Cambrai, France).

H P Doran with a date of birth 4 9 1893 had a post 1920 number of 7040564. This number is in the block allocated to RIF in the 1920 renumbering exercise.

I note you say your was born 1895 but you also indicate that there is another of the same name in the family possibly with a military history.

the RIF post 1920 enlistment book may be at their regimental museum (see address in post one)

It may therefore be worth asking them for a look-up of the above (plus details of yours)
