Charles Lawerance N Lotinga

Looking info on Charles.
He was born in 1856 and married Eleanor Atkinson Dec 1881 in Northumberland . Lived in Cardiff and had several children with Eleanor. Her married in 1914 in Ayrshire Scotland to Mary Buchanan and had a son Hope Lotinga in 1915/1916 his occupation on marriage was a mariner. Would like to know what happened to him after this. There is another two marriages of a Charles L Lotinga one in Chepstow(1911)and one in Cardiff (1939) There is also a death on Poplar  London March 1942.

The free index to the 1939 register shows a Charles Lotinga born 1855 living in Poplar.

The 1942 death in Poplar states age 90, which is a little out, but it would depend on the knowledge of the informant who could well have been wrong.

His son Harold Atkinson Lotinga was baptised in Sandhurst, Gloucestershire, 26th May 1894, and Charles Laurence was a Naval Store Agent. In 1891 he was a Soap Works Manager. In 1901 Eleanor says she is a Widow, but in 1911 she says she is married.

I don't know how much you have researched him but his birth was registered as Charles Laurands Noah Lotinga.March ¼ 1856 Tynemouth. His father was Noah Samuel Lotinga, a merchant and ship builder, of North Shields.

In 1886 he was prosecuted for selling beer without a licence from an 'alleged bogus club' at 67 Bute Street Cardiff ( South Wales Echo 06 October 1886)

Thanks everyone, on his marriage (1914) to Mary it states he was widowed and his parents were Noah Lotinga and Mary Gillen.
