how to view civil records

I have found entries (index #'s  ? )in the Irish civil records website that I want to view eg 

SR District/Reg Area : Claremorris,
 Returns Year   1864
Returns Quarter   1
Returns Volume No   4
Returns Page No      195

Where do I go to view these ? Are they on a website, or would I have to physically go there to view them?

As far as I can tell this is a General Register Office index reference, which enables a copy certificate to be ordered.

So.. you are on the 195th page @6 per page, reasonably well into 1864 so just checked Church Registers starting March and work back...

I have checked the available church records for this period on "registers.nli.ie ' and was unable to find an entry for the marriage mentioned in the civil record..............partly because the parish records are handwritten and very hard to decipher, and also, what I really was hoping to find out, is where can I view a more detailed account of the civil record. Is there a physical ledger somewhere that I can open to page 195 and find out more ?  There is no page 195 in the church register.
I would try to order a copy from the GRO, if I was sure this record is of my ancestor.

A Research Copy of the certificate will only cost €4.

Surely that's worth a punt? (pun intended!)

The only way to get a more detailed account of the Civil Record is to buy the cert.
The record you found is from a book which only has an index to where the Cert can be found in the General Register Office.

P.195 is the page no. at Registration Office, not the page number in Church Register!
