I have the birth dates of Gustaf and Margaretha but no records as it doesn't state where they were born.
Gustaf Edler was born 1788 and Margaretha Catharina Westling born 4 Apr 1786.

Hi Ian  I have been trying to research this family for some time, and it looks like you have a lot of information,  I have been trying to find the birth place of Maria Lovisa Stenstrom parents, wondering if you have any info?  Looking towards Norway.

Hi Marilyn
I have taken a wee look in the books for this family and found only 3 records. I'm pretty sure that Norway is not involved here.
It looks as though they were from Norrköping.
Here are 3 birth records to parents Lars Stenström and Stina Pehrsdotter:

Maria Lovisa 2 Feb 1803 in Norrköping

Lars Peter 7 May 1800 in Norrköping

Hi Ian
This is very interesting as I had established that Maria Louisa had come from Norrkoping but had not been able to find any relatives. This certainly would seem to fit with dates. In the 1855 census she was listed as a widow.
I am fairly sure she died in 1886.
Thank you for this.
Carol

Cheers.
Do you have the source for the 1855 census?

I am fairly sure she died in 1886.

Do you have any evidence of this?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner Ian as I am travelling this week and have not always had access.
I was lucky enough to visit the Swedish archives a couple of years ago and they showed me her death record. I would love to know more about her family before her marriage. Now that you have opened up the names of her parents I will have to go searching again.
Regards
Carol
