Holt - Montreal

Hi All,

I'm looking for my Aunt who is interested in her biological family's history.  Her father was Austin Holt who she knows died in 1975.  I found his grave at Mount Royal Cemetery which lists his death as April 25th 1975.  Can someone please help with locating his death certificate or obit?  Once I find that, I can go from there.

What she believes she knows:

her mother was Doris (Williams or Healey)
May have had siblings James, William, Rosemary.
Possibly also a brother named Leslie, a sister Denise, and possibly another sister born prior to 1946.
There may also be three more brothers.

I think the death certificate or obit will give me a good place to start.  Or even a marriage certificate.

There are no BMD indexes in Canada as in the UK.  Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificates are issued by the province or territory where the event occurred. There are restrictions on who can apply - see here.

Wonder if this is sister Lillian - Lillian Gertrude Napasney - passed away 1985    Lillian married in November 1937 - father George Holt.

Thanks Sandra.  It never occurred to me that some may still be living.  My Aunt is 70 so the siblings are most likely still alive.

The 1921 Census of Canada in Lachute, Argenteuil, Quebec, shows an Austin Holt, age 9, parents George W (born Ontario) and Jessie Holt (born USA.)  There are a number of siblings, including the two mentioned in Austin's obituary.
