Looking for info on death of Alexander Fleming.  Date may be around 2000??

Alex Fleming was married to my Grandmother Margaret Frame (maiden name: Rae), they married in 1951 in Wishaw.

Margaret was Alex's 2nd wife.

Appreciate any help.

Who was the informant?

My Grandmother, Margaret died on 18 June 1980. Informant was presumably Alex Fleming......I know he was alive for many years after.....& I think he remarried, but I don't have any further info.

Informant was presumably Alex Fleming.

Haven't you obtained a copy of the 1980 death cert to be certain?

I think he remarried,

Haven't you checked Scotlands People for a re-marriage?

Having sight of my Grandmother's Death Cert won't help me in ascertaining Alex Flemings death date. I know that Alex Fleming was still alive for many years after!

I have been reminded that Alex......was a widower when he died......so I may require to buy a copy of his Death Cert to find out more facts.

Appreciate all your help.

You mean Alexander Ferguson Fleming born 1914 in Carluke the 7th child, 2nd son of son of Alexander/Isabella Ferguson.  He married Grace Wilson in 1942 who died in 1946.  He remarried around 1950 but we do not know if he married a third time, let alone his 2nd wife's name.  He died 1998 in Whitburn.

Or...do you mean one of the other Alexander Ferguson Fleming's.  Yes there were several.

I don't have enough on this branch to confirm it is the same man.  My cutoff date is 1925 and the above marriage/death came from a family member who is in touch with that side of the family.

You would need to obtain her marriage registration which shows both parents to confirm your Alexander's identity.

Have checked & have esrptablished that my Grandmother (Margaret Frame, nee Rae) 2nd Husband was in fact: Alexander Ferguson Fleming born on 30 Dec 1913 in Carluke. His parents were Alexander Fleming & Isabella Ferguson....they were married 1 Dec 1899 in Carluke. (I now have a screenshot of his birth).

There is no image available on Scotland's People for the marriage of Alex Fleming & my Grandmother, I would need to send off for a hard copy.

Appreciate all your help.
