Baptisms,Dublin.
« on: Tuesday 08 March 16 01:47 GMT (UK) »
Hi, could anyone tell me if it was common for a relation to stand in for the mother with that persons name appearing on the cert in a baptism ceremony, due to illness etc. Thanks

Not sure what you mean by 'stand in' for the mother.
I know my mother wasn't at any of her children's baptisms, my aunt brought me up to the church, but you wouldn't know that by looking at the church register.
