Hi Diddy,
Many thanks for all your help.  Unfortunately a lot of the information is so vague with no definite links and I don`t even  know if it is the correct Kirk family.

One thing did strike me though was the following:

Quote
Kirkby  (now Price) Janet 28/12/1843 born 23/1/1819 d/o Daniel, gardener & Elizabeth
Pinfold Gate,,

Thomas Hallam and his wife Sarah Kirk lived in Pinfold Gate.  Who is Janet Kirkby?  Her baptism date is the same as Sarah`s and Janes.

Not sure why you think the info is vague?

The stone (sorry about predictive text) is Elizabeth kirk and the Baps confirm your details.

The bap for Daniel links with the birth date given .....

Sorry, but I am a newcomer to this forum and find it a bit confusing, especially when things are abbreviated.  I went on a wild goosechase last night looking for Janet Kirkby.

Does this refer to Elizabeth Kirk (nee COOPER) and not Kirkby?

When Wood gate Baptist Church closed some of the stones were moved to the Old Rectory garden - this used to belong to the Parish Church All Saints but is now a museum and  ruins.

A list of memorial stones i found from Wood gate in the Old Rectory does not include that of Elizabeth.

Thanks Diddy.  I have been doing a little research this evening based on all the information I have received.  I looked at the 1841 Census image of Daniel Kirk junior (his wife is missing for some reason - I thought she died in 1842) -  and was amazed to find other familiar names on the page.  Smedley, Cooper and Spray.  All these surnames appear in my tree.  It can`t possibly be just a coincidence.   ???

Sarah (COOPER)  Kirk`s  stepdaughter daughter Sarah Mansfield Hallam married John Smedley.  Their daughter Mary Ann married Joseph Spray.    I find it all most odd.  Wish I had more time to get my head round this lot.
