Hello from Canada!
My grandfather Alban Linley Bird was born in Dublin, 1894 to Joseph and Edith Bird (nee: Challen) at Leinster Rd, Rathmines. He appears on the 1901 Census but is not on the 1911. Was disowned. I am trying to get more information on Joseph, a middle name or his parents names (he was from Kent/she, Brighton Sussex) Is there anyplace you could possibly look up the Bird side of the family? A later Census perhaps? Alban Linley's brothers and sisters: Godfrey, Eileen, Harold Theodore, Edith Mabel and Amy Dorothy. Thanks for your valuable time...

Reply:
Joseph Bird Esquire and Edith were at Rathmines address on the and 1901 and 1911 Census - He was an accountant/secretary - Joseph was born 1860 according to the Census but he may have been a few years older.  Edith was born 1862.  It was my grandfather who disappeared between 1901 and 1911.  Thanks for taking the time to help me..

Hi Katherine

I am looking for info on my fathers family, and wondered if you could help me in any way.

My father Edward Matthews was born in dublin in 1918. My grandfather was George Humphrey Matthews born in 1882. My great grandfather was William Matthews.

I have 3 addresses-30 Garville Avenue in 1882, 90 Tritonville Road in 1918 and 33 Mount Merrion Avenue,Blackrock in 1939.

The last entry in my fathers family tree was a Lady Ellisha Mathew, born in 1781 in Thomastown Tipperary, and died in 1841 .She was the daughter of Francis Mathew Earl Of LLandaff. She had 3 sons Thomas, Robert and William Fitzwilliam but she was not married.

How do i link my great grandfather William to one of the sons named above.Any help would be greatly appreciated

 Christine

Still looking for CROWDER anywhere in Ireland. Have William CROWDER born abt 1806 and his wife Hannah PARKER born about 1816. I first have then in 1842 in Macclesfield, Cheshire on the birth of their first child. On the 1851 census it gives Ireland as a place of birth. He was a silk weaver and she was a spinner. The only other info I have is that Macclesfield seems to have a concentration of CROWDERs most of whome gave their place of birth as Dublin. I am totally syuck here and have been for over 10 years. ANY Crowder sighting might give me a lead.
Thanks

GRAYBURN family dublin
« Reply #121 on: Monday 31 January 05 14:18 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for the Grayburn family. In particular the birth details of John Grayburn (c 1828-1878) The 1851 Hull census records him as having been born in Ireland.

I do not have much more than that to go on although there was an Eliza Grayburn in St Lukes, c1832 and another Grayburn had land in Donnybook.

The name has many variations including Graburn, Graybourne, Grayburne Greyburn etc. This may be too big a job, in which case I will understand

cheers
Wendy

Thanks for the great offer. I am researching the names of Becton and Moore.
Richard Becton and Rose Becton (nee Farley) were my greatgrandparents. I cannot find any records for them but I know they died pre 1891 as they were deceased at the time of my grandparents marriage, they were Peter Moore, (a member of the dublin metropolitan police force) married in Dublin but originally from Drogheda, to Mary Becton in 1891. They had several children, Cecelia, Kathleen, annie and Agnes who along with their mother died between 1900 and 1912. The two remaining children were my father Thomas Leo Moore and his brother George patrick Moore who were eventually sent to Carriglea Trade School at Kill of the grange.
I was wondering if you had in any of your records mention of these people. I am searched for a long time for information on the bectons but without success. I believe Richard Becton originally came from Portarlington.
Many thanks

Hi There
Hope I get it right this time.
I am trying to trace my great grandmother who was Mary Ann O' Reilly. She was born in Dublin 1850.  She moved to Oldham and married John Ryan in 1871.  She MAY have had two brothers, Eugene and Desmond.
(yes I know there lots of O'Reillys!) Any help would be appreciated.

best wishes,
Jenny Sterne
