Another site I find very useful is:

http://yorkshirebmd.org.uk

Great for places like Hull and York where there are/were lots of churches but only for post 1837 unfortunately.

Thanks Pinetree.  I do use that website quite a lot but, as you said , it does not cover the time frame for this marriage.  My problem only came from the fact that Familysearch do not cite their sources properly - ie so anyone can easily find the original.  But that is a bug bear I have with many online records.
