BRICK WALL MARY FLETCHER FORM GRINDON STAFFS

Have found a marriage for my 5th great grandmother Mary Fletcher of Grindon to Ralph Kent of Butterton 24 May 1751 in Peak Forest, Derbyshire.  Cannot trace any further back for Mary.  The church they married at was like Gretna Green and no questions asked as I have read, so I guess Mary was under age, she was also 3 months pregnant!  Any help with her parentage etc would be appreciated.

Sorry she married Joshua Kent, Ralph was their first child, followed by William, George, Joshua and Anne (I always assume children were named after family members).

I was going to ask how Michelle knew that Mary was born in Grindon, Staffs.
FreeReg has the marriage and on the record Grindon is stated to be the bride's parish.

I suppose the parish can be different from the birth place, she could have been working in Grindon and then gone home to get married, still wonder which of the Peak Forest families she was from then!!

 I am only a newbie but I think her parents name may be on the marriage certificate if you get a copy of that....Don't you think she is the younger one Christened at Grindon or is that too young Oi have just asked and only the fathers name and occupation will be on the marriage certificate


 Well I have just been informed that there were no marriage certificates until 1837 so that option is scuppered sorry ..I hope you find her family and birth date Michelle ....good luck
