If you go to the site posted by Groom (which also has a Facebook page) or the one I've posted below you can "claim" a convict and although there's nothing for Patrick Hall as yet you never know who's watching, because this way if he has any descendants and they see this then you have communication.

When I was doing some research for a project on female convicts I was able to speak to a few descendants of various convicts, though of course not all of them and it was very interesting as we were able to help each other.  Them with what happened to the person later and me with who they were and where they came from.

How I envy you having a convict ancestor.

The 1818 conviction was for obtaining money under false pretences from Benjamin Rickards (Derby Mercury, 29 October 1818, page 3 col 2)
