Jankers was when actually put in the cells for a given period after being put on a charge. And found guilty.

Sorry to disagree but jankers was not detention. Not in my service anyhow. Jankers was CB (Confined to Barracks) or in later years RP ( Restriction of Privileges). Both usually entailing some form of fatigue duties and things like show parades.
