Colne Times Obituary for Mrs. J. Pollitt
« on: Tuesday 16 February 16 01:59 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if some kind soul would be able to look up and send me the obituary for Mrs. J. Pollitt which appeared in the Colne Times on 23 September 1949 (sorry, I don't have a page number).

Some years ago I received a copy of this obituary, but it was very poor quality and I am not able to read a little over half of it.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Yes, that's her.  I was aware of her will and have been debating about ordering it.  However, I'm not sure how much I would learn since I have a pretty good handle on her immediate family.

Looks like there is no one close to Colne who can look up her obituary.  :(

Is there some info in the obit that you don't already have?

She was married twice - which you probably already know

Carole W, sorry for the belated response but I have a new computer and have been having problems moving things from the old to the new.

I don't know what's in the second half of her obituary.  I have a very poor copy and cannot read anything in that part.  It may turn out that there is nothing helpful; I simply don't know.

Yes, I did know that she was married twice.

I am bumping this message in the hope that some fresh eyes may be able to help.  After all these years, I still have not been able to obtain a clear copy of the obituary :(

I can't see the Colne Times for that period on BNA or FindMyPast.  Have you tried contacting them direct

Do you recall where you got it from?
