Do you have any idea of their year of birth?
Long Shot:

There is a "Sabina" Sandilands in the RG4 series of non conformist registers,  Berwick upon Tweed Chapel St United Presbyterian, born 15th Feb 1785 and baptised 20th Feb 1785.
Daughter of Alexr Sandilands labourer in Castlegate and Agnes Sandilands (Lately Agnes Cowan his wife

Though the first name isn't quite right, its possible that it was the nearest to the scribbled note made at the time of the baptism and later entered in the register I suppose, but as you haven't given a time frame its hard to know if this baptism is too early (or later) to qualify as a 'possible'

Hi Boo
I can only guess at the birth given that the marriage is in 1816.  I had estimated around 1795 which would make her 21 at marriage but there is no reason it couldn't be 10 years earlier.  So yes, it is definitely a possible.

I have had no luck finding a death for her either, which would give us an idea of her birth year.

thanks for your help
regards Eddie

If you have access to Ancestry, the image for that record is available on there. If you don't have a sub then perhaps your local library may have a library access deal with them.

I am intrigued, I always wonder when people say they just have a marriage date and no other info. Do you not have later census returns etc that led you back to this marriage? May be just me, but I tend to verify the steps backwards before progressing further. I am always curious as to how people seem to have a marriage this far back and not know anything else about the people who married.

I'm not criticising, just insatiably curious :-)

Boo

Free BMD Deaths Index

Robina BRUCE, age 76,  Q2 1868, Berwick 10b 211

Looks highly 'possible'

ooh I am on a roll here!
For your consideration
http://www.gravestonephotos.com

Has a record in Berwick Holy Trinity of a gravestone that mentions
Jane Bruce 1829
Andrew G Bruce 1847   69
Rabenah Bruce 1868   76
Rabenah Bruce 1830   2
Isabella Bruce 1843   26

Look at it, if it seems likely then a photo of the stone will be available from that site (free, its just an amazing resource)

lol, you certainly are on a roll Boo

with regards to you earlier question, I was brought to that point in my research by a combination of census info and information from marriage certificates of Robina's son Also Andrew Geggie Bruce, which left me in no doubt whatsover that this is the correct marriage and they are indeed my Great great great grandparents on my maternal grandfathers, mothers line, (if that makes sense). Some information was originally found on familysearch.org which pointed me in the right direction. I have encountered an irregular marriage on the Coldstream Bridge which was only found through newspaper archives and am still searching for another probable irregular marriage. Ah the joys !!!

The information on the gravestone ties in very well with my tree, including the 2 x Rabenah's (Rabina on my tree), Jane who was born and died in 1829. Their son Also Andrew G Bruce  married one Eleanor Waite, they had quite a few children of whom the second was also Andrew G Bruce, it was their daughter Eleanor who married one George Gibson Johnston  and hence connected to my mothers maiden name Johnston.  At this point in the story the name Edwin appeared on the birth of my maternal grandfather, and was passed to me as Edwin Johnston Leask.  I have found no earlier instances of the name Edwin in the family, so it would be interesting to find out how they decided on that name.  I suppose I will never find out for sure

Thanks again for your help Boo
kind regards Eddie

If there is a gravestone in Berwick Holy Trinity then its very likely that there will be entries in the parish burial registers that may, or may not, give a little extra info/confirmation.

When you have the gravestone photo and know exactly what the stone says, I'd suggest a look up request for Berwick Burial registers to see what the entries say.

Berwick doesn't appear to be included in the online BTs so a look up at Woodhorn may be the only option.

I was going to bed , but thought I would check the newspapers

Illustrated Berwick Journal 15 May 1868
Deaths

At the Greens, Berwick, on the 12th inst., Robina, widow of Andrew Geggie Bruce, farmer, aged 76

That makes the death registration I found on Free BMD a lot more certain.

and that's me for the night, pleased to have been able to help a little.
