VARLEY and PICKLES families of Wilsden

                    If there are anybody out there who is researching the above families, or knows anything about them, I would be glad to compare notes and hopefully find missing information to my notes.

Thank you for your reply and offer. My family tree has the Varley and Pickles family coming together with the marriage of Fred Pickles and Sarah Varley in 1902. I have been able to go back to Bernard Pickles and Elizabeth Wade, no birth , death or marriage details for them, but have birth details for their 7 children, the oldest being Joseph, born 1796.
On the Varley side of the family, i have been able to go back to James Varley and Martha Allerton, again no birth, death or marriage details, and their son George, 1741 - 1811.
I have found other Varleys and Pickles from Wilsden, and as it a small place, I am sure they could be related some time prior to the dates given. My ultimate aim is to prove this or otherwise.
Can anybody help me in this?

How did you find Elizabeth Wade, and Martha Allerton's surnames without finding the marriages?

Marriages were traditionally in the brides parish, so I would look in all neighbouring parishes rather than stick to Wilsden. The groom may have been living there, and they may have settled there and had their family there after the marriage if that is where he was working, but the actual marriage may have taken place in the parish where the bride was living.

There is a Barnard Pickles, yeoman, buried in Wilsden 22nd September 1831 aged 73 years.

There is a marriage on Anc* of a James Varley of ? Bradford to a Martha Akerson, possible transcript error as writing is not very clear but looks like Allerton to me.
