Presume you got George's name from William's marriage cert?

What was George's occupation and is he shown as deceased on William's marriage cert?

Where either of the witnesses surname Mason?

The 1837 Duffield marriage register is viewable on Familysearch. The spouse is Racheal Hadley

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VNYS-CRB

You will see that George was a tailor.

You won't be able to order birth or marriage certificates for events prior to 1837

Only marriages prior to 1.7.1837 are affected.  As yours was after that date, you will be able to buy a copy of the cert via the GRO

But you won't need to because the register page is viewable online per the link I posted earlier (you may need to sign in to familysearch to view it)

Hi,

In 1851 Census St. Peter's Derby.

William Mason   35   born Belper               Railway Smilth's Striker
Rachael Mason   35     "     Derby
George Mason   13son  born Belper            Brass Molder
Mary Hadley     58 Mother in Law widow    born Wellington Shropshire
Mary Jackson   14  Cousin   born Belper

There are 2 deaths on civil registration for George Mason, 1843  1 is Belper and the other Derby.

Will see if I can find him on 1841 Census.
