Thanks for all your replies, which contain some interesting info.

However I suspect that I may have to approach the present Earl of Rosebery to see if he can give me a proper source for the Primrose Blaw marriage mentioned in my original post.

How interesting,
I found some of my Mums hard work and it seems
Archibald Primrose is her 11 x great grandfather.. 
I have it noted as Margaret Bleau
Son David Primrose. not much more info on dates.. 
Duncan Primrose Father and Janet Main mother.
