Hi

Not sure if this is relevant or not..  but....

On checking the Marriage between Arthur and Finetta, I see his surname as HEARDING and note that he is a widow.

There is a Baptism for a Mary Reyner HEARDING in Bermondsey Surrey in 1783 to parents Arthur and Sarah. Father's occupation was Mariner.

I then found a marriage between and Arthur HEARDING and a Sarah REYNER in Liverpool Lancashire 9th Feb 1781, groom's occupation Mariner.

Cheers

Thanks Karenlee

Well that accounts for Arthur seeming a rather old groom  ;D
because I could not find an index for a younger Arthur.

Finetta Gunnis remains a mystery.  In fact all the Finettas (Fanetta, Fenetta, even Ferretta ::))
going back to the 1700's are very hard to find.  I suspect one reason is that her name has nearly always been spelt incorrectly.  Now if only we knew the origin of the name..

Thank You Karenlee

How interesting.  I imagine the apprentices were quite young so that might place his birth somewhere
around 1755.
Still looking for their births, deaths.
Very hard in 18C with no census to verify families and fewer indexes online.
