Where is this London Street? Charing Cross London

Can anyone identify this London street please, photo taken around 1960?

I have no idea of the area, but at the far right of the image is a street corner!  Could the little sign that reads "Whistler (and a code number I can't quite make out). Could this be an area code?

I've ruled out Holborn Viaduct now but under the Goodman Price sign seems to be a telephone number HOL.50(8)3 - which would perhaps indicate this is somewhere in Holborn. 

And agree re the street  sign.  It possibly begins Ch.....

There is still a company called Goodman Price Ltd - they are demolition engineers!

So, the photo was probably taken pre-demolition?

Ah you've beaten me to it.  I've just discovered that Goodman Price Ltd are demolition people so as there sign is on that building (and I think maybe on the Railway Lost Property Building) I wonder if they were starting the process of demolishing the buildings. 

Someone out there must surely know!!!

How about the corner of Holborn with Chancery Lane ?  Steetview shows the buildings have changed (of course), but not imcompatible with the photo. "Ch...." on streetname could be Chancery Lane.  The general street scene and layout is very similar.....

It's The Strand near Charing Cross Station, corner of Craven Street. E Whistler & Co (jewellers) on the corner at number 11.
