I was one of those involved in the research into the Hasler family but have not kept any notes.

Can I ask where the name of Michael B* has come from? as I cannot find it in the above thread.

*Is this person still living? If so, you will need to delete his name from your post.

He was reportedly friends with Peter Hasler and Eva Hasler and was living with them.

Peter Hasler died and then he married Eva Hasler.

At some point unknown, he took Peter Hasler's name to become [edit by Spades 12/08/25: name removed - now identified as still living, see Reply#44 below]

I cannot find anything for either Michael Bendit or [edit by Spades 12/08/25: name removed - now identified as still living, see Reply#44 below] in Archives or NZ BDM records.

YES, the person for whom information is being sought by HistoryBuffalo > listed here as "M...... B " and alternatively as "M....... H" (one and the same), >  is still living, although is now resident in another country.
