Parkhust Prison IOW 1871 Herringshaw
« on: Saturday 02 January 16 17:21 GMT (UK) »
Is 1871 too late for Henry Herringshaw to be a Parkhurst Boy? He was 26 in 1871 at Parkhust. Then married in 1874 and left for N Zealand in 1874. He was a letter carrier. Any information very welcome.

Hi,

Henry Herringshaw was found guilty of stealing a post office letter in November 1867 and sentenced to five years. As the Parkhurst Boys date from 1842-1862 he would not be included and equally in 1867 he awould have been too old to be classed as a Parkhurst Boy.
