Brickfields of Heston
« on: Friday 01 January 16 08:41 GMT (UK) »
I want to research the brickfields and brick workers around Heston in the 19C, particularly second half. Can anyone suggest some useful resources, either online or local history books.

Thanks

I have a record from the 1861 census in Ancestry in which my relative William Thomas (shown as "Wm Thomas") is one of four lodgers living at a house in Heston all of whom give their occupations as "Labourer in Brickfields". I would be happy to tell you more if you wish.

I've just seen your post R _Francis. Yes, please, I'd love to hear what you know about the brickworkers and brickfields. I have a 2xGGF who was a brickfield labourer in Heston. I have a book 'And so Make a City Here' which is useful, but I'd like to know more. I look forward to hearing from you.
