William John Eve, born 1855
« on: Monday 21 December 15 12:48 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out what happened to William John Eve born 1855 in Whitechapel. He was the son of William Robert Eve and Elisabeth Drake.

He married Alice Parsons on 2nd August 1885 in St. Philips in Stepney. They had 2 children, Alice Elizabeth born 1887 and Thomas born 1890 both in Whitechapel.

I can't find any trace of his death. Alice is in the 1901 census as the wife of Alfred Reinsford, along with her daughter Alice and 3 Reinsford children, Florrie age 3, Beatrice age 1 and Hector age 3 months.

I can't find a marriage between Alice and Alfred Reinsford (sometimes transcribed as Ransford) either.

Any info that will get me past this brick wall will be gratefully received.

Dave

I wondered about that chap as well. I think (next page) on the admittance record it says "deemed insane"?

There's a Wiliam John EVE on the 1901 as a patient in the London Lunatic Asylum who's a Labourer in a flour mill-but says born Sheerness. I don't see a birth for anyone of that name in Kent around that time??

The flour connection and the combination of names looks promising.
