Bertha and George Pritchard

Hi,

I had a G-G-Aunt Bertha Mabel Whitfield (Williams) who was born in Liverpool in September 1869 and was adopted by the Whitfield's as from the 1871, 1881 census she is recorded as being Bertha Mabel Whitfield living in the West Derby area of Liverpool with her parents and older brother.

In 1888 Bertha married George Pritchard at St Cyprian's church in Liverpool and I haven't been able to find any reference to both Bertha and George Pritchard in the 1891 and 1901 census. I have obtained some ships crew lists which show a Bertha M Pritchard to be working as stewardess on the Cunard ships Lucania and Campani around the end of the 1800's and start of the 1900's.

I'd be very interested to find out what happened to Bertha and George e.g. where did they live ?, have any children ? etc

did George have a middle name ??
George William Pritchard and Bertha have 3 children
1898 in Bath ,Somerset - Archie G Pritchard - in 1901 they are in Stalybridge ,Cheshire
1902 christened 9th March at Castle Hall, Cheshire - Bertha Pritchard
1904 christened 11th March at Castle Hall ,Cheshire - Georgia Clarissa Pritchard

Bertha Pritchard married  Richard Harlow at St Peters Catholic church 29th October 1927  Stalybridge ,Cheshire ......so I presume Castle Hall is near or in Stalybridge ??
just googled - Castle Hall was the name of Holy Trinity church in Stalybridge .
so - if we do have the right couple - they went from Liverpool 1890's to Bath then 3 years later to Stalybridge ,Cheshire ....I wonder if George was in Service ....see if you can find him in 1901 census in Bath or Stalybridge for his occupation
its all I could find to be a possible for your George and Bertha
