I discovered rootschat through the discussion board of futurelearn and now have found there is a free 14 day trial on findmypast. Other novices, like myself, may find this useful.

Ummm, I've just signed up (gulp) 

We'll be travelling for most of the time and might not have internet access every day, but I'll try to keep up

Don't quite get the 'following' thing though.  Better go and have another look.

If you go to the discussion page (with now over 8000 comments!) you'll see a 'Most Liked' button. If you click on that then scroll down the page before long you'll see us Rootchatters!

I've been doing these Future Learn Courses since they first started up, - (I got sent a Link by the OU).
I've done quite a few now, and have really enjoyed them. (So far I've never 'introduced' myself though:-)
