Well,  the enthusiasm is most definitely infectious.  :)  I've signed up for the genealogy course, and am looking forward to it for next year.  Am still a little bit anxious, as I haven't done any formal learning for years, but I'm sure it will settle down once the course starts.   Will welcome some familiar "faces" so I've searched the messages for 2-3 pages back, and 'followed' everyone I found so far.

The other courses mentioned on here also look really interesting as well.  At this rate I'll probably spend most of next year in front of my computer.   :)

I've been busy following all the RootsChatters I can find. And then I filtered all the discussions and just laughed.

There are so many replies from RootsChat people giving advice and ideas to others who mention their problems and brick walls in their introductions!

It seems that RC people just can't help themselves!   ::) 8)

Merry Christmas, Everyone!  :)

What is great about these courses is that they aren't like formal learning, its crowdsourced learning with the option to be involved as little or as much as you want with no pressure to go faster than you are comfortable with. That said, there is a pace the material is released at, and you may feel the need to keep up with the crowd to get the most out of it :). This is because each part has a comment section where students are encouraged to share opinions, and comment on each others.

Judging by the level of interaction in the pre-start thread there will be a lot of peer comments to read :)
